Watch Full Episodes of Gumby and I Spy (and more) on YouTube
A partnership between Digital Music Group (DMGI) and YouTube was announced today that will bring full episodes of such classic shows as Gumby, I Spy and My Favorite Martian to the popular website. In addition to the classic shows, YouTube will also have access to a portion of DMGI's music catalog."We're very excited to introduce our video and controlled-publishing music catalogs to the largest audience for video content available on the Internet," Mitchell Koulouris, chief executive officer of DMGI said in a prepared statement."Not only is YouTube helping to promote independently owned content but will also provide a new revenue source for DMGI through online advertising."
Maybe DMGI's smart choice to embrace YouTube's popularity will carry over to some other companies, although Viacom set the opposite approach last week by demanding that 100,000 of their shows videos be removed immedietly. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
